Canadian education is widely recognised for its outstanding academic standards and its universities' high ranks concerning the quality of teaching and reputation. Their undergraduate degrees can take four years, depending on the university, but the postgraduate programs can be finished in a year or 2. Degrees from Canadian universities are valued worldwide, considering that Canada's government spends more on the education sector than other countries.
Degrees from Canadian universities have the same demonstrable skills as their US and UK counterparts. Today, Canada is among the most sought-after study destinations, and the number of international students taking graduate courses keeps increasing.
Graduate courses are advanced academic courses in a specialised field of study. It is carried out after you have already obtained a bachelor's degree. Graduate programs are a foundation for several well-paid jobs across thousands of industries. Graduate schools can help you earn more money and make a more fulfilling career throughout your life.
A Master's Degree programme is the most common type of graduate course. Generally, they are given in three realms - Master of Science (MS), Master of Arts (MA), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
Students who have completed their undergraduate studies from a recognised educational institution can study Postgraduate, also referred to as Graduate courses in Canada. While a Master's program generally takes 2-3 years to complete, a PG Diploma is only 1-2 years maximum. Depending on the university where you choose to study, it can be further divided into 2 or 4 semesters.
Students with Science backgrounds can have lots of options when it comes to choosing a programme after schooling. You can choose medical and non-medical courses. Usually, the medical procedures include biotechnology, biology, and many others. Non-medical include courses in Engineering and pure science, except those that overlap with methods in biology.

Here are the steps to apply for a graduate course:
Step 1: Choose your course and the school, and check availability. Take note that a majority of international students are applying for PG Diploma, and the admission is competitive. Be alert and make sure you're considered from 8 to 10 months before the start of term.
Step 2: Fulfill the required documentation. Submit your academic proofs such as transcript and degree certificates, as well as your English language tests. Scan them and send them to the university you want to apply to. You may be asked to pay an application fee of CAD50 - 100, depending on the college.
Step 3: Other program requirements such as SoP (Statement of Purpose), which states your academic background and your career goals.
Step 4: Pay your tuition fees before the deadline to prevent the offer from being withdrawn.
Step 5: After submission of documents and payment of fees, it is now waiting time. It can be 2-3 weeks or longer.
Step 6: Apply for Canada Student Visa; and Post Application Processes. If you are selected for the program, you will be sent a letter of acceptance. You can now apply for a study permit, which, when approved, allows you to fly to Canada to study.
