How to Apply to RMIT University?
Students can apply on the RMIT website but have the essentials in your hand before you apply. The minimum entry criteria for each level of study (such as a diploma or bachelor's degree) are established by RMIT University. Each level of study (undergraduate, postgraduate, or research), as well as for foundation programmes, you can discover the minimum academic entry requirements. Each RMIT programme has unique entrance criteria. Ensure you have all the necessary supporting documentation on hand. Do not provide original documents as they do not return the documents. Don't send in a separate application for an English-language course, please. Every RMIT program has its own specific entry requirements. You will find them on their website.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for diploma-level courses must have at least a 60% average in their Class 12 examination.
- Admission to bachelor's degrees will require students to have a Class 12 grade point average of 65 per cent or higher.
- In Australia, all universities accept a three-year graduation degree for admission to postgraduate programmes. For example, B. Sc., B.A., and B. Com. degrees in Sri Lanka are equivalent to Australian bachelor's degrees with a total of 12 years of education.
- Qualifications equivalent to Australian Bachelor (Honors) degrees may be required by some universities and courses. For example, B.A. (H), B. Com (H), B.E., B. Tech, and other four-year degree programmes.
- Scorecards from the GMAT and IELTS exams (if applying for MBA programmes) should be provided. The minimum GMAT and IELTS exam scores may differ from one institution to the next.
- When applying for an MBA or higher education degree such as a doctoral programme, you may be required to provide work experience letters and certificates outlining major responsibilities, complete work information, and previous positions held. A comprehensive resume is also required.
- An SOP (Statement of Purpose) or personal essay stating the student's interests, career goals, extracurricular activities, and why a particular stream was chosen, as well as how the student will financially manage while in the country, must be presented. LOR (Letter of Recommendation) is required from a professional who has taught the student and knows him/her professionally, stating the student's strengths and weaknesses and why he/she will do well in the chosen field. In most cases, the application requires two LORs.
